This session considers sexting from sociological and adolescent developmental perspectives, discusses elements of a concrete strategy for dealing with sexting, and explores ways to talk proactively with adolescents and parents about kids’ emerging sexuality.
You will learn:
1. Understand sexting from a developmental perspective
2. Consider elements of a concrete strategy on dealing with sexting in the context of emergent sexuality
3. Explore ways to talk with adolescents and parents about sexuality
Presented by Jim Hancock, Author — The Youth Worker’s Guide to Helping Teenagers in Crisis and The Good Sex Curriculum. After two decades in church-based youth work and a ½ dozen years in the film + video industry, Jim Hancock quit his day job to develop books, digital movies and high-involvement learning designs (Ten Things We Should Never Say to Kids, The Boy Who Believed in Magic, The Youth Worker’s Guide to Helping Teenagers in Crisis, Good Sex, and lots more).
